We have applied the deprivation analysis outlined in last month’s Lottery Monitor (pages 5-7) to Wales. To remind you, our ‘fair funding’ table (Table 1) summarises the differentials between how deprived an authority is and how much Lottery grant it has received over the past seven years. We have used the Welsh Assembly’s version of the Index of Multiple Deprivation 2000. Table 2 shows Fair Share areas in Wales set against our own table and a couple of other key differentials. Bear in mind that Community Fund / NOF applied a further filter when working out Welsh Fair Share areas: they divided the country into ‘north’ and ‘south’ and took the top two areas from north and the top three from south. We have indicated these categories in our listing of authorities in Table 1.
