The Community Fund has launched a new international grants programme. Unlike the previous five annual rounds of international funding, this programme has no closing date or committee meeting deadlines, and has £16m available for UK-based charities working with overseas partners. There is no grant maximum but a minimum application of £60,000 is expected. Match funding is not required. The fund will prioritise projects that combat the causes of poverty and deprivation. Geographical priority areas are: Africa, Asia (including the Pacific and the Central Asian Republics; the Middle East; central and South America; the Caribbean; central and Eastern Europe, including the Russian Federation, the Caucasus and the Baltic states). There are four subject priorities: education, community health, natural resources and civil and political rights.
